What I've Learned As A College Sophomore

I guess you could say that my sophomore year of college was much different than my freshmen year, so here's a run-down of what I've learned this year:
·         Being pumped on the gospel of Christ makes you happy
·         Buying a new book doesn’t help you get over a heart break, nor does buying a new dress (but if it’s cute, buy it anyway)
·         Only say “I love you” if you really mean it, and even then maybe don’t
·         Mashed potatoes in chicken noodle soup is bomb
·         Heart breaks are the worst!
·         Running is hard when you go alone
·         If you love something, then do it even if someone else is better than you
·         God doesn’t want me to feel sorrowful or angry or pained. He just wants to take those feelings and bless me
·         Moving on from another human being is crushingly sad
·         French Toast is a quick amazing meal
·         Rejecting dates can actually be hard
·         The scriptures are there for our benefit
·         Going on a lot of dates seriously SUCKS
·         Don’t let the friends that were always there for you walk away
·         You don’t have to love your roommates
·         Break Dancing is really cool
·         I am a really awkward dancer
·         Playing intramural sports is a blast and it gives you something to look forward in the week
·         Your brother can be your best friend
·         Service is awesome and rewarding, but it is also time consuming and stressful
·         The Gospel blesses our lives in unimaginable ways and allows us to feel true joy when we live in accordance with our testimonies
·         There is a plethora (copious amounts, if you will) of other people around me every day who desire and try to do what is right and improve to become more Christ-like
·         Although connecting with others totally sucks sometimes, it is the most amazing thing and gives me so much purpose and meaning in my life.
·         Grades are less important than connections to be made, people to love, service to be given, or education to be gained. And they shouldn’t be valued over those things.

Just Remember:
God doesn’t want you to wallow around in self-pity, He doesn’t want you to feel fear or doubt, He doesn’t want you to feel unimportant. He wants to take all these feelings away. God wants you to have joy and that only comes from becoming like Him.
