Day Twenty-Three

Day Twenty-Three: A letter to someone, anyone.
To the girl who dates my ex next:
Dang, you are one lucky girl, and I’m not going to lie and say I’m not jealous, because I probably am. I’ll pretend I’m happy for ya’ll, mostly for him, because it will be good to see him happy again, but it will hurt to know it’s not with me.
So a few things about this man that you can call yours now: he is the sweetest boyfriend you will probably ever have. If you’re ever sick, he will take care of you better than your mother would. He will give you time to just talk, and he’ll love getting to know you. He’ll remember seriously everything you tell him, even the seemingly unimportant details you mention. He gives great advice and he’s a wonderful listener. You’ll be able to have happy and funny conversations or deep and serious conversations. He’s an amazing son and grandson and his family loves him, but they would be crazy not to. He’s going to support and encourage you in everything you do. He flirts in such a cute, yet awkward manner, but it totally works. He has just the right amount of mushy comments and funny remarks, and his humor is so on point it’s crazy. He can have you laughing so hard your abs hurt. Also, he’s kind of awkward and he has these quirky little things he’ll do, and they’ll be adorable to you. But he will take you on the best dates. He’s spontaneous and fun, and he’ll get excited over random things, and that look when his face lights up with happiness, yeah, cherish that. Live on every word he says about his family and where he’s from and stories from his mission and past in general. And when he speaks a different language to you, love every word of it, because although you might not understand it, it is the cutest thing you might ever hear. He’ll leave you cute notes and voicemails, and he’ll make excuses to see you.
So play with his hair and tell him he’s handsome and surprise him and make excuses to spend more time with him and tell him what he means to you, because you have an amazing man in your hands and I don’t want you to make the same mistake I did.
I wrote this a long time ago, but didn't know who else to write a letter to...
